All dental care professionals (dental nurses and technicians) are required to be registered by the end of July 2008. For dental nurses who’ve already been working in the profession for a few years, this means that they can become registered by having their previous experience validated (recognised as equivalent to a qualification).
For new dental care professionals entering the profession now, they are required to demonstrate that they have an approved qualification, such as NVQ in Oral Healthcare Level 3 or Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Nursing.
